Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together the water, sweetener, maple extract, and xanthan gum.
  2. Bring mixture to a slow boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Mixture consistency should be noticeably thicker at this point.
  4. If desired, add butter and stir into hot mixture until melted.
